Stress Response – our bodies and brains are hard-wired to react to stress to protect you against threats. Doesn’t matter if the threat is real or imagined. If your mind and body are constantly on edge because of excessive stress in your life, you may face serious health problems because your body is in that “flight-or-fight reaction.” Your “natural” alarm system is constantly on. Living with this level of stress is known to cause cancer, heart disease, autoimmune disease to name a few.

Executive Function – this is an umbrella term for a set of high-level mental processes that control and regulate other abilities and behaviors. Some of those behaviors include the ability to initiate and stop actions, to monitor and change behavior as needed. Your Executive Function allows you to anticipate outcomes and adapt to your changing situations. When your Executive Function is underdeveloped or not functioning properly, you can have behavioral problems, trouble making decisions and following through on tasks and projects.

Social & Emotional Function – is how we relate to others and manage our emotions, resolve conflicts, understand and respond to social situations. If your social and emotional function is not properly wired, it will impact your social skills and not for the positive.

Communication – is our ability to exchange information, formulate our thoughts and opinions through verbal or written expression. Those expressions can be speech, language, voice and writing … as well as non-verbal expressions such as gestures, facial expressions and body language.

Creativity – is our ability to express ourselves with original and open thinking, imagination, problem solving and movement giving us the ability to create something new or respond to opportunities.

Motor Coordination – is the ability of our body to harmoniously function with regards to movement. These movements include gross motor skills (like walking, skipping, running, throwing) or fine motor skills (like handwriting, buttoning a shirt, keyboarding). Or the ability of our brain to conceive, organize and carry out purposeful movements.

Auditory Processing – is our ability to understand and make sense of what we hear. When we have difficulty processing what we hear, it can have a negative impact on our learning, thinking, communication and relationships.

Intervention — aiding in the rehabilitative, therapeutic, neurodevelopmental and sensory needs.
